The United States condemns this morning’s attack on the Police Academy of Sana’a and the senseless murder and injury of Yemeni citizens, especially those who sought to undertake public service and protect the Yemeni people. We express our sincere condolences to the victims and their families.
Today’s attack on a state institution dedicated to providing security for all Yemenis reveals the nihilistic vision and depravity of terror groups operating in Yemen. The gross disregard for human life is a reminder of the true nature of their extremist ideology.
We stand by the many brave men and women who work each day to build a better, more peaceful future for themselves, their families, and their countrymen.
