During his visit to Hadhramawt, the Ambassador emphasized that the United States strongly supports the efforts of Saudi Arabia and other regional countries to help bring about an end to the conflict. The United States supports a Yemeni-Yemeni peace process under UN auspices as ultimately the only viable path to bring about a comprehensive political solution.

Ambassador Fagin: I visited Hadhramawt to reaffirm U.S. support for the people of Yemen and their desire for peace.  I met with the Governor and local leaders to discuss the peace process and ongoing reforms. I commend the Governor for his efforts to maintain the stability of Hadhramawt and overcome fiscal challenges.
